Very interesting and timely; I’m going to try digging deeper with this outfit and others mentioned in the article.

Around here, a 10 mm vial is over $500/vial and keeps rising. I’d say the cost has more than tripled and is simply not affordable without insurance. Insulin rationing by insurers is already happening and is something most all of us are experiencing.

Several pharmaceutical companies are divesting themselves of their generic drugs, even if by some means generic insulin was produced which it currently is not.

A very serious problem!

It is difficult to know why the cost of drugs keeps getting so high but many point to the pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).  Insulin has been around for a long time and it seems that generic forms should be available and profitable.  There really doesn't seem to be any excuse other than greed.
