Alcohol & Weight loss
« on: December 05, 2018, 06:56:04 PM »
This study suggests that patients who abstained from alcohol, lost more weight than those who drank any amount during the trial. Personally, I don't think that it really matters. They do not take other parts of diet into consideration and therefore the results are irrelevant IMO.

Back in the 1970s I recall a popular book called “The Drinking Mans Diet.” Wonder I’d it’s still around.

Without analyzing all the foods/beverages consumed there is no way to make a real objective analysis on alcohol’s contribution one way or the other...

I agree with Barb in that you really need to look at all the food/beverages in a person's daily consumption before making a judgement whether a diet is appropriate for you. Personally I do not consume alcohol but I sure as heck have not lost any weight.  I think, for me at least, that products made from wheat flour are my downfall and added way too much weight for me.
