April Fool's Day
« on: April 01, 2016, 04:15:18 AM »
Today is a pranksters' day. People try to pull a fast one on each other. It's mostly a kiddies thing.
Is this something global or just a hangover from the British era for the colonies. Maybe our Scot would have known better.

A friend posted a picture of a new mouthwash by Scope - bacon flavored.  Leaves your mouth sizzling fresh!

I fell for it - thought it was a real mouthwash.  Turns out it was an April Fool's joke by Scope some years ago  :D

When I was a teenager, like most, sleep was something I never could get enough of.  I hated getting up in the morning and once up took me some time to hatch out.

On one April fools day, when I was 16, my Dad who was always up at the crack of dawn...came and knocked on my door waking me up!  He said, "you have a phone call" get up and answer it, he yelled...so I crawled out of bed and went out to our kitchen where our phone was (Yep, I am from the 'olden days' when all phones were linked to wires in the wall).   As I got to the phone it was hung up, no call....my first reaction was my Dad had hung up on my call because I was so slow getting out of bed to answer my call.

After looking around the room and our living area, I realized my Dad had gone back to bed as it was to early even for him....but it was April fools day!

We had many laughs about that day over the years.   And each of my kids had the same experience on the first April fools day after they turned 16!  Turnaround is fair play....SMILE it worked well on every one of them.....

The April Fool's Day story doing the rounds this year was that the government has cut down on petrol/diesel prices by almost 25 US cents to the litre.  >:(
