Increasing costs of Insulin
« on: November 03, 2016, 12:10:01 AM »
Two days ago, The Washington Post carried this story. The rise in prices of insulin have alarmed many. If you are uninsured, insulin therapy can be prohibitively expensive. We do have many insulin users on the forum and wonder what they think about this.

I don't know what went wrong Bob. That link keeps taking me to the front page of Washington Post. So does a Google search to that post. For whatever it is worth, here's the link

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/10/31/why-insulin-prices-have-kept-rising-for-95-years/

Maybe, they've taken it off.

I thought it might be my browser, but both links are now working so I suspect when I tried late at night, the site may have been down.  I have this happen with a few sites during the weekends.  Thanks

For those living in the United States and using Lantus, be prepared to change to a biosimilar named Basaglar.  Most insurances are changing their customers to this and any that won't change will have to pay for Lantus out of their own pocket.  Read article here - http://www.diabetesincontrol.com/insulin-change-for-2017-insurance-plans-will-be-dropping-lantus/?xtor=-[Issue%20#857%20(1)]--[www_diabetesincontrol_com_insu]-[MTExNjQyMzc0Mzc3S0]--

Thanks Bob. I'm sure Insulin users of the forum will be thankful for that piece of information.
